Rugged Coast Research Society (RCRS) is a non-profit organization and registered charity comprised of a passionate community of marine professionals and environmental enthusiasts uniting to tackle marine based research, restoration, and protection. With several decades of marine logistical experience and a robust background in biology, our team is able to plan and safely execute projects in the hard to access, remote, and rugged corners of British Columbia’s coastal environments.

OUR VISION

For the natural and coastal habitats of British Columbia to thrive and support healthy populations of marine and terrestrial wildlife, while integrating sustainable human habitation. We envision a future where we collaboratively reduce humankind’s impact on natural habitats and one where we’ve transformed our perspective to give legitimate value to the natural world around us.

We have been exploring remote areas of our coastline in search of surf and adventure for many years. Along the way, we kept finding remote pristine beaches and shorelines laden with marine debris. Initially, RCRS was started as a means to give back while enjoying and experiencing these areas, but is now growing into a larger movement – “Protect what you Love.”
